At first I was not too sure as to what I was going to do for my final project. A lot of things went through my mind but I was really on the fence about what I wanted to do. A painting would be so simple and I had just finished a painting. Remembered how much fun it was to make the first comic strips we had done so that is what I chose to do.
This comic strip is a classic three box design. It is simple and it gets to the point. Along with being easy to read it tells a funny joke. Comic strips are hard to make doe to the fact that it is hard to get them to be funny, I say the simpler the better.
In this strip you can see that there are two main people. Block dude and circle dude. My original plan was to use my monsters that we used in the begging of class but after thinking about it I chose to make completely new people and start from scratch. They are much easier to draw and it is easy to put facial expressions on them.
This depicts a scene from the movie Happy Gilmore. When Shooter Magavin and Happy get into a fight over the green jacket and who is going to win the championship match. It is really funny it real life and it is kind of out of context in this three slide strip but if u have seen the movie you understand and hopefully think it’s funny.

my definition of the words Pimp, Hack, and Mod.

Pimp- to change something in its appearance in way of making it more Desirable by means of color modification or performance.

Hack- used to describe when you radically change a object or picture in shape and visual appearance.

Mod- to make something that was already sleek and slender in design and consolidate it into a even better device.

This comic strip I feel is the best piece of artwork I have ever done. It describes a creature that was originally a monster that has turned into a friendly fun going creature with no friends. All he wants is to be friends with block dude but block dude wants nothing to do with him. The plot of the story is all about what is being said, the joke I know is bad, that’s the point.
I did not want people to think I was actually trying to be funny so I thought of the lamest joke I could and used it to my advantage. And it turned out to be not that bad of a joke and I really enjoyed the process of making this comic. These simple three to five boxes can make people laugh.
As I was finishing it I had many more ideas about how to make it better and if I were to ever improve on it I would defiantly make the charters different colors. In my original the block dude was green and not red, I accidently used red. But it all worked out just fine and I am happy with the way it came out.
i used a classic three frame strip to tell this lame joke, i use facial expressions and the various words to describe what happens in each frame. the first frame the main charter asks his buddy a simple question and with a smile on his face he has no idea, in the second frame the block dude is puzzled and his face looks a little confused and in the third and final slide with the punchline the block dude is obviously very upset with the lack of quality of his poor joke.

This is my own interpertation of the bike with bees on the seat.

Well this picture is one that I have never seen before and looks like would make for a very uncomfortable ride. I do not really get the meaning behind this picture but I have a good idea of what Oppenheim is trying to get at. This picture represents our everyday lives. We are always on the go and are always being told to do more and do it faster. This picture represents that by having thousands and thousands of bees on the seat of a bike. Picture this, you are riding a bike with bees on the seat you don’t notice them at first and then you hear a loud buzzing and a tingly feeling in your butt. You look down to realize that the seat of your bike was covered with bees; you swerve to the side of the road hit the curb and go over your handle bars. This result in you landing on your face, after coming too you realize you are being stung over and over again. It is a metaphor about life and how hard it can be to do everyday things like ride your bike without having bees cover your seat. If I was riding a bike with bees on the seat and I had someplace to go, I would peddle really fast because I don’t like getting stung in the butt or anyplace really. Another thing I noticed about this picture is the location at which it is taken. It seems that it is taken outside of a small convenient store or some business. After thinking about that I thought that the guy inside the store would be in for a surprise when he comes to sit on his bike to go home. These are the mostly the ideas that Oppenheim hand in mind when he created this work I think.

When I first looked at this picture there was not much that ran through my mind that related to it. All there is in this tiny wooden box is two thin metal bars running through it connecting both sides. The two bars are about an inch apart and are suspending a scuffed yellow ball of some sort.
The ball is in the middle of the two bars and is being held in place by two golden rings that are attached to the back of the box. The big yellow ball is in the middle of the two bars and on either side of the yellow ball are wine glasses, one on either side.
They are about two inches away from the ball. The glasses have been put in such a way that so the part that usually holds the fluid is being pinched between the two bars and is suspending them in the air. Inside the two glasses are yellow marbles. Finally behind all of this is a picture of the solar system, wicked trippy kinda.
This picture reminds me that the solar system is really big and the ball represents yourself and the two marbles in the cups represent the different choices we can make in life and if you make the wrong choice and spill your glass, you will lose all your marbles.

well it took me a while to remember how to use photoshop, but i think it came out pretty well. i call this picture to old friends having a drink.

Ekstasis
When first walking into the art display room the first thing that you see is a massive object that is very sturdy looking in construction. It is not your everyday working media either, it is put together with rivets, welds and screws and the whole thing must weigh several hundred pounds. It all starts with a massive piece of woods that has been carved to look like a torpedo or some kind of fishing lour. The wood has not been finished in any way it has just been shaped It is pushed up on one side with wheels so it makes it look like an old propeller driven airplane before it goes down the runway.

The wheels are connected by two long metal bars and there is a chain connected to a sprocket on the wheels axel. The chain circles back into the object to an imaginary engine that powers the wheels and provides mobility.

On the side of this long piece of wood there is a green crank shaft that has a red handle on it. This is used for starting the imaginary engine that the chain and wheels are connected to. At the opposite end of the wheels it rests on the ground.

At this end there is a medal loop that has been screwed into the bottom and makes a place for something to be attached. A long leather belt runs though the medal loop and is spread out on the ground. The leather belt is brown and broken up into smaller lengths but is put together with massive staples which makes it about ten yards long. When you look at this it makes the whole things resemble some sort of fishing lour from the future that does not work at all and is for massive fish.

this is a picture of me i am wearing a ricky willians jersey for when he played for the saints, in the corner of the picture is my friend his name is declan we went to high school together and i am pretty sure by the look on my face i just sunk one.
